Like many of the projects we take on, finding or having a budget for models isn’t always an option, and picking a location that looks like it’s straight out of a movie isn’t always practical. Even when working with high end brands, the logistics of time and budget are still a very real thing to navigate, and we pride ourselves on getting creative and doing the very best with whatever situation we are presented with.
In this case we replaced the models with the talent we had available to us: Worth Avenue Yacht Brokers, Captain, Journalist, Event Coordinator, guests of staff, and even ourselves-the photographer and videographer normally behind the camera. We needed people in on order to tell the story, so we made them comfortable in front of the camera, supplied mild direction, and then just captured the moments as they were.
As far as location, guests will experience amazing ocean views with expansive and beautiful shores way off in the distance. We, on the other hand, were confined to the over crowded dock, surrounded by other boats and commercial properties. Angles, cropping, and a good eye was the only way to pull this off while maintaining the luxury feel both brands are recognized for.
